Lottery luck at Central Park Tap isn’t permanent

ROCKFORD — Nestled on the wall of Central Park Tap, right under a Remy Martin cognac and a white board featuring the most recent lottery numbers, is a framed certificate from the Illinois Lottery.

It proclaims the 3523 Auburn St. bar and liquor store one of the lottery’s top sellers in the 2002 fiscal year, with revenues topping $898,000.

The Tap may have another honor to hang on its wood-paneled walls: It’s sold the most winning tickets of any store in the Rock River Valley, according to a Register Star analysis of state lottery sales data. Read more.
